After trying different types of games, I decided it was time to get back to what I knew best and develop an RPGΓÇöa familiar and reliable genre. This new RPG was somewhat reminiscent of KnightΓÇÖs Blade (funny how the names sound similar). I collaborated with others on this project and published it under a different name, though I ended up doing most of the work.
Unfortunately, the game didnΓÇÖt perform well; it was below average compared to my previous projects. While it was an improvement over the game jam prize money, it still fell short of my expectations. I also had to share a portion of the revenue with others involved in the project.
During this time, I was plagued by delusional thoughts, believing that my publisher was deliberately targeting me or perhaps discriminating against me because I was from Nepal. Looking back, I realize this was unfoundedΓÇöI hadnΓÇÖt provoked them or done anything to warrant such treatment. It could have been that purchasing from me was simply too expensive or impractical for them. In any case, this experience was a setback, but it was part of the journey.
